Greetings Mr HongChi Xiao, from Forres (near Newbold House).
I attended your talk when you came up to Newbold House some weeks back and have been practising the La Jin posture. I did it daily for a month to help my back and hopefully some other small problems.
My back is a little improved (I still get slight pain and stiffness in the early morning in bed and have to keep changing my position to get comfortable), but the biggest improvement is as follows. I am 64 yrs of age (and have had no children) and I was getting urgency of urination, so that if I did not go to the bathroom immediately I felt the urge, I would leak and be unable to contain it. This, despite doing exercises to strengthen my perineal muscles. However, after one day of La Jin this problem was entirely cured!!! I suspect I may have had a slight prolapse of the bladder and the posture has corrected this (?). Also generally speaking my hamstrings have become looser and my walking more comfortable.
In addition, my partner (who was on the verge of seeing the GP about his prostate gland) who was experiencing similar difficulties with his urination as myself and needing to visit the bathroom 2 or 3 times in the night, has seen a good improvement with La Jin. He still sometimes gets urgency of micturition, but is now only visiting the bathroom once a night. He is 76 yrs old.
My question: In order to maintain the above improvements (and hopefully further improve my back difficulties at night) how often do I need to pracise La Jin? At present (after the intensive month) I am practising once a day for 3 or 4 days in a week.
Would my partner need to do the same?
With many, many thanks, and blessings,
